About LED Screens
LED screens are LCD flat screens using LED backlight technology, unlike conventional LCDs, which use CCFL backlight using. LED screens are used increasingly more in computer monitors and televisions due to its slim design, high image contrast and brightness and low power consumption and its main disadvantage compared to CCFL LCD prices, higher panel temperature and service life of LEDs limited.
Features
LED screens are a variant of LCD screens (also called TFT-LCD), which differ from conventional LCD backlight they use with CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp, Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) LED screens while using backlit by LEDs (Light-Emitting Diode, Light Emitting Diode).
The LCD backlight is needed because the image is formed by pixels but these do not emit light by themselves, so they need a light source to illuminate the pixels from the back. Continue reading →
